The thing that amuses me the most about PETA is that they speak of ethics. But whose ethics are they considering? Not the animals' ethics.
Since you live with an animal, you are aware that if an animal sees food, he or she will eat it. When my dog grabs food, there's no point in yelling at the dog for more than a second or two, since the dog is doing what dogs do, according to dog ethics.
If a lioness sees a gazelle, she will eat it. This is in accord with lioness ethics.
If I see a cow...oh, wait, that's not "ethical."

I love the center Speedo. I had a 2011 S, and now have a 2010 JCW. If they lose that, then not much left. In fact the rumor of it being gone is why I decided to buy another Mini and used versus a new one.

"The government" is not a single entity, but a whole bunch of separate little bureaucracies, each fighting against the others. It's quite likely that in the UK (and in my own country, the USA), the people who are trying to hire hackers for cyber-defense are not the same people who are setting up surveillance cameras and reading e-mail contact lists.

I will grant that the two are closely related, but blaming the cyberdefense team for the over-surveillance by other parts of the government is akin to blaming all Canadians for Justin Bieber.
